Inspired by a flamboyant 1900s broadway group called the ‘Florodora Sextette’, this is a long, bold-flavoured but simultaneously refreshing and ridiculously addictive drink that’s ideal for festivals and parties.
In this recipe we’re not pulling any punches, substituting the tame raspberry syrup for a more adult shot of Chambord. It looks like an amazing soft drink, it tastes like an amazing soft drink, but after three it’s worth checking your legs are still in working order. Especially if you want to up the ante and serve it by the pint, in which case simply double the quantity of the gin, lime and Chambord, topping up to the pint line.
– 50ml gin
– 25ml lime juice
– 25ml Chambord
– Ginger beer to top up
– Lime to garnish
- Add the gin, Chambord and lime to an ice-filled highball (or better still, a pint glass)
- Stir for a few seconds to blend
- Top up with ginger beer
- Squeeze a segment of lime then drop it in the glass
