We’ve baked gin cupcakes, we’ve tried gin and tonic cookies, and we’ve even had a Darnley’s Gin & Lemon Drizzle Cake… But this week Aldi have brought something really special back: Sloe gin mince pies.
Sloe gin is a clear Christmas staple in any household – served best, in our opinion, beside a roaring fire with lemonade and plenty of ice – so this news is music to our ears.
Aldi’s glorious Sloe Gin Mince Tarts have been described as “a very sophisticated alternative to the traditional mince pies” and are stuffed to the brim with a sloe gin and mincemeat filling and sprinkled with almond flakes.
When can I get my hands on these bad boys? I hear you ask. The great news is they’re out now and will set you back a very reasonable £2.49 a pack.
The return of the sloe gin mince pies come just as Aldi have launched a brand new gin range for autumn/winter.
Complete with seasonal gin delights such as Spiced Plum & Clementine and Gingerbread Gin Liqueur, you’ll be spoiled for choice on exactly which tantalising tipple to match it to!
Gin-themed Christmas food was an interesting trend last year, with Slingsby launching their very own gin-flavoured cream and even gin cheese becoming a viral hit over the internet.
We can’t wait to see what gin delights the rest of this festive season brings!
