When it comes to winter, picture the perfect cocktail. You might think of spice, some honey, perhaps even a little kick of heat … or how about simply a snowy masterpiece topped with strawberry and a sprig of herb?

Dine, a fine dining and cocktail restaurant based in Edinburgh, is now serving a ‘Winter Cuppa.’  That is, a glorious gin cocktail made from House of Elrick Gin, maple and berries water, fresh lemon juice, ginger liqueur and hot Loch Ness water.

You read that right. House of Elrick Gin contains water from the oldest and deepest source of Nessie’s home waters so you can truly experience the essence of Scotland in every glass.

The gin also contains heather pearls and rose petals so you can expect a refreshing, floral base to compliment the fruity notes of the berry water. Finally, maple and ginger liqueur gives the cocktail a distinctly winter kick. This is all encased in a frosted finish glass that reminds us of snow globes by the fireplace.

There’s never been a more perfect excuse to gather your friends and enjoy a cocktail. If you need further encouragement, however, we fully recommend sightseeing in Edinburgh in the winter.

Following on from Edinburgh Christmas and Hogmanay, how about taking a wintry stroll through The Royal Botanic Garden or seeing Edinburgh Castle capped with a snow and looking like a scene from a postcard?
