If you’re looking to raise a glass of gin rather than a whisky this Burns Night we may have just the thing. Lassies Toast Gin features the actual type of tea Robert Burns is reputed to have enjoyed.
Moorland tea is generally a blackcurrant and heather flavoured brew that has been compared to drinking hot Ribena. This gin itself features bilberry leaves, strawberry leaves, heather tops, speedwell and wild thyme.
The idea is that this wee dram has been designed as a drink for the ladies at the end of a Burns Night meal.
Traditionally, “Toast to the Lassies” is a humorous speech which is designed to praise the role of women in the world today. Typically, this should be done by choosing a quote from Burns’ work and ending the evening on a positive high note.
Whisky – or a ‘wee dram’ – is generally considered the way to toast on Burns Night but we’d definitely be open to raising our glasses with this fabulous gin.
It comes in a beautiful red glass bottle that features two very special nods to letter writing in the days of Burns. As well as a pretty white feather on the body of the bottle, it’s also cleverly sealed by wax.
