If you’ve ever imagined that you’d be a dab hand in Snape’s potion class, now’s your chance to prove it. Pop-up experience The Pop Up Geeks are bringing a new Harry Potter themed bar to Edinburgh’s East Market Street.
Suitably called ‘Perilous Potions,’ the experience involves creating your very own magical cocktails. Now you can create your very own Butterbeer or one of many curious concoctions the class will offer.
These include ‘The Draught of Delerium’, a dreamy delight that is said to extend the life of whoever drinks it and a cocktail that literally sparks alight.
The class lasts 2 hours and is the first permanent experience from the ‘Geeks’ to be hosted at The Arches by Waverley Station.
Given Harry Potter’s association with the city, we couldn’t think of a more suitable match. Edinburgh is generally considered the birthplace of the famous wizard, with parts of the first book written in a local café.
However, The Pop Up Geeks have also brought other pop culture classics to life in the capital.
Fans of the hit Netflix show Stranger Things were previously treated to their very own Upside Down. The bar wizards used Haymans Sloe Gin to create this super snazzy 80s cocktail.
They’ve also created cocktail classes inspired by The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. (Coincidentally, if you fancy creating your very own cocktails of ice and fire we’ve got you covered).
The company will be announcing the launch date of Perilous Potions shortly but, in the meantime, are taking bookings beginning in February 1 until April 30.
Just be sure to book as soon as possible. Given that it’s a magical experience you never know when it could simply disappear…
