Rose gin and Valentine’s Day is a match made in heaven

Not many people would mind a beautiful bouquet of red roses and a box of chocolates.

But it’s a little bit expected for Valentine’s Day.

As with so many great gins lately, somebody decided to make a gin out of an unexpected botanical. There’s pineapple gin, vanilla marshmallow or bakewell gin, even espresso gin.

Enter rose gin — Liverpool Rose Petal Gin, to be exact.

The 100% organic gin is an absolute beauty. Although Liverpool Distillery is keeping mum on the exact blend of botanicals, delicate rose petals form the key ingredient.

First released in 2016, this limited edition gin is back in time for Valentine’s. The rose gin is said to be delicate and aromatic with a soft mouthfeel of rose and juniper.

If you shy away from over the top Valentine’s products, the bottle doesn’t overdo it. The gin is dipped in pink wax but otherwise blends in with Liverpool Gin’s clean branding.

The perfect serve? Lamb & Watt Hibiscus Tonic with a gorgeous garnish of edible rose petals.

You couldn’t go wrong with a clinking glass of ice, rose gin and Fentiman’s Rose Lemonade. Fever Tree Aromatic Tonic Water with its cardamom, pimento berry and ginger would be incredible.
