As the popularity of gin continues to rise, so do gin experiences. If it’s not a gin train sweeping across the North York Moors National Park, it’s gin afternoon tea, a vintage gin bus…

One experience that really has captured our attention, however, is a gin cruise.

Most recently, Artisan Drinks announced that London would have their first gin cruise. If you’re north of the border, the good news is that a gin cruise already exists and will be taking bookings in March 2020.

On board a canal boat called Lochrin Belle, expect a fabulous two hour tasting departing from Fountainbridge, Edinburgh.

Not to alarm anybody but this fabulous vessel is actually purple and looks like a gin dream boat.

This experience includes the opportunity to sample five Scottish gins as you cross. You’ll sample each neat, followed by a mixed drink or cocktail.

It’s also an opportunity to learn all about the fascinating history of gin and juniper whilst enjoying some tasty bites.

You can even organise a private cruise for groups of up to 28 if you wish –  perfect for hen parties or gin parties alike.

For booking information on Edinburgh’s gin cruises, visit the Summer Hall Drinks Lab website.

Tickets cost £39.50pp for a two hour tasting.
