Great news, gin and golf lovers!
Watch out for a new Eden Mill Golf Gin this summer joining the distillery’s core range of gins. Golf Gin will celebrate The Open Championship stop over in Eden Mill’s backyard.
First launched in 2016, Golf Gin celebrates the birthplace of the sport, which happens to be where the much beloved distillery is based in St Andrews.
Fun fact: the original Golf Gin was flavoured by golf club. That’s right, you were literally drinking the sport. The gin’s use of hickory seasoning was a throwback to old school hickory shafted clubs.
This gin, however, features a delicious combination of seaweed, pine needles, gorse flower and heather to create a tipple that has both floral and herbal notes, with a distinct peppery finish.
On the nose, expect hints of juniper pine, lavender and spruce trees, while the seaweed gives a slight tang of the sea.
You can also expect a real hit of juniper on your palate, perfectly complimented by the sweetness of the gorse.
Meanwhile, it’s good news if you’re loving cucumber tonic water this season. Golf Gin is said to pair perfectly with Primrose Hill Natural Mixers Cucumber Tonic Water for a crisp and refreshing drink experience.
Of course, Fever-Tree recently announced their very own Cucumber Tonic Water so we won’t tell if you decide to choose either, but Primrose’s natural cucumber extracts and no artificial flavouring is choice mixer, alongside a blackberry and mint garnish.
We can’t wait to try both!
Eden Mill Golf Gin will officially launch midday on June 8, priced at £30, from the Eden Mill Shop.
