Gin olives are now a thing, apparently

As soon as the sun even remotely decides to show, you know it’s time for a picnic complete with all your favourite snacks and drinks.

Gin lovers, there’s a fabulous range of portable G&Ts and gin boxes galore out there… only now, there’s the perfect snack accompaniment. Olives in gin now exist and you’ll never want to go back to the brine variety again.

Morrison’s new gin olives comes in partnership with Slingsby Gin, who previously worked with the supermarket to create a gin-flavoured cream.

These pitted Halkidiki olives from Greece sit in a bed of gin, complete with a little slice of lemon on the side.

The idea is naturally to mimic everybody’s perfect G&T serve: citrus. There may be multiple garnishes you can add to a gin, but there’s nothing like the refreshing flavour of a good slice of lemon or lime in your glass.

Morrisons recommends serving the olives with dips and other snacks, but we have to wonder if we could pair a cheeky citrus gin on the side.

Each packet of these little gems come in a perfect plastic tub that’s ideal for summer picnics and BBQs.

Even better, the olives are only £2.50 for one, or currently on special offer for 2 for £4 making them the perfect purse-friendly addition to your supermarket basket.

Previously, Waitrose sold pitted green olives in a gin, juniper and lemon zest dressing for £1.99 for 100g but, as they’re currently sold out online, we reckon these summer snacks will be your new go to.

Morrisons Slingsby Gin Olives are available now for £2.50.
