Wetherspoons is launching its first ever gin festival

August is looking to be very busy for gin lovers. Save the date everybody: JD Wetherspoon pubs across the UK are hosting their first ever national gin festival.

From Friday August 17 to Monday August 27, the popular pub chain will be serving a whole range of gins from around the world. Expect gins from Japan, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany, as well as gins produced in the UK.

We have to say the selection is superb. Included in the list are at least 4 gins included in our best gins round-up: Gin Mare (Spain), Roku (Japan), Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin (Germany) and Jawbox Single Dry Gin (UK).

Sharish Blue Magic Gin (Portugal) and Malfy Gin Con Limone (Italy) complete the international selection.

Meanwhile, further UK gins include Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin, Wrecking Coast Clotted Cream Gin, Finni’s Black Bee Gin, Bathtub Gin and popular mid-range buy Brecon Special Reserve.

There’s numerous award-winning gins among the selection, as well as a choice of flavoured drinks. Fans of ever popular colour changing gin are sure to be delighted with Sharish’s magical properties.

What’s even more agreeable, however, is the price of each gin will include a free mixer.

All of the gins will be served in a G&T’s signature Copa de Balon glass, so you can expect a pretty sizeable glass for your buck.

Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin has said: “This is our first national gin festival and we believe that our customers will enjoy trying the superb range of drinks on offer.

“The gins will be on a par with those served in any leading bar, restaurant or hotel, but at far better value prices.”

Great value and varied gin selection? Sounds fabulous!
