2018 has sure seen its fair share of interesting gin trends but there’s really been one to rule the roost. Who knew Parma Violet flavour would become such a thing?
But indeed, here is proof that the sweet-inspired tipple is going nowhere: Whitley Neill has just launched their very own Parma Violet Gin.
Described as being infused with an “aromatic violet flower to a smooth English gin base,” it appears this latest addition to the Whitley Neill family will naturally strike a floral note.
What’s really interesting, however, is that this gin will deliver “a vibrant taste of Italian elegance.” Fancy your childhood treat given an Italian flair?
What you can no doubt expect, however, is a quality flavoured gin that’s balanced with decent juniper content. Whitley Neill have become popular for gin lovers owing to their ability to create intense, authentic flavours that still feel like a gin. It’s certainly ranked amongst our favourite rhubarb gin and flavoured gin picks alike.
So far, the distillery have brought us relatively standard flavours done well. This January saw the release of two new flavours in Morrisons, Raspberry and Blood Orange, which went down rather well in our G&Ts.
Parma Violet Gin, on the other hand, has caused its fair share of upset in the industry, opening the floodgates for even crazier, sweet gin liqueurs to emerge in its wake.
Originally made popular by experimental distillery Zymurgorium, Sweet Violet Liqueur has broken the internet on several occasions due to its nostalgic connection to the childhood sweets.
If you fancy getting your hands on this latest release, the good news is Morrisons is once again the official stockist.
You might not know whether you love or hate Parma Violets but, at only £22 a pop, we’re willing to bet people will be keen to find out.
Whitley Neill Parma Violet Gin is available now from Morrisons for £22.
