Marks and Spencer are launching a Christmas gin

Forget the turkey – this season it’s all about fabulous festive gin. This year, there’s already quite a selection but imagine our delight when we learned Marks and Spencer will launch their very own Christmas Gin.

As part of the retail giant’s Chrismassy offerings, the new tipple is suitably called ‘Christmas Dry Gin.’

Good news is it features a whole host of festival botanicals that are guaranteed to make you feel like it’s Christmas Day already.

For those of you who love spiced gin, this new tipple contains ginger, cardamom and cinnamon that’ll give your G&Ts an extra special festive twist.

The botanicals are actually grown by specialist herb nursery, The Secret Herb Garden in Edinburgh, who M&S formed a partnership with back in April.

The latest gin is actually the fifth to launch for the supermarket. Formerly, the retail brand released two gins with Thames Distillery.

No 01 Spice features notes of rosemary and ginger, while No 2 Zest includes orange peel and liquorice.

This was then followed by new gin with Old Curiosity that launched the first ever colour changing gins on the high street.

No 03 – Floral – and No 04 – Aromatic – both use the power of its botanicals to induce a change of hue in the glass once tonic is added.

Once again using flowers from The Old Curiosity’s herb garden, these beauties come in British Lavender and Rose respectively.

As for this gin, we’ve yet to hear a specific launch date but with gin advent calendars emerging left, right and centre and dreams of gin baubles beginning, we expect it to be very soon.

We simply can’t wait to try it with a little orange peel and our favourite Indian tonic water.

Alternatively, opt for rosemary, lime and a cinnamon stick for a delicious herbal hint in your serve.
