Introducing Aldi’s latest gin offering – a gin-wine combo


Supermarket chain Aldi have begun selling a gin and wine combination drink that is guaranteed to go down a treat with wine and gin lovers alike.

Distillers are always looking to push the limits of gin development to create something unique and interesting. Today brands are becoming more innovative and inventive, combining exotic ingredients with traditional distilling methods, which is terrific for gin lovers like us as there is now more flavours, tastes and sensations on offer than ever before.

Last year the combination of wine and gin was dreamt up, and after a number offerings from the likes of Marks & Spencer, Four Pillars and Ferdinand’s, we can now add supermarket giants Aldi to the gin-wine hybrid sellers.

Introducing Sorgin – produced by French winegrower and vineyard owners, Sabine Jaren and Francois Lurton, now on sale in Aldi stores for £24.99.

Sorgin, which comes from the Basque word for “witch” is the latest flavoured gin addition to Aldi shelves. Coming in a 70cl bottle, with a 43% ABV. It is created with Sauvignon Blanc grapes, juniper berries, lemon, violet, broom flower and blackcurrant buds.

This gin and wine concoction is a refreshing, ready-to-drink beverage and will give lovers of each tipple the best of both worlds when enjoying a drink with family and friends.

How best to enjoy this majestic gin concoction?

The makers suggest serving it neat, or with tonic, and garnishing with a twist of grapefruit or orange to best highlight the delicious bitterness of citrus and the furitiness of blackcurrant.
