Christopher Wren gin is the tipple under the spotlight and this is why

We have been more than happy in the past to cover the success of our favourite gin brands in competitions such as the Scottish Gin Awards 2018 and the World Gin Awards 2018.

Speaking of awards and recognition, Christopher Wren is a premium gin that combines the subtle flavours of juniper, coriander, angelica root, liquorice and sweet orange to give a complex gin that balances quality and flavour.

Winner of a Double-Gold Award at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016 and a Gold Award in the International Spirit Competition 2017.

Tasting Notes –

Nose: Well rounded with classic pine notes, fragrant citrus and earthy creaminess.

Palate: Juniper is front and centre with sweet, sticky orange and liquorice depth.

Finish: All that’s gone before comes together on the finish, fantastic stuff.

Christopher Wren Gin

City of London also have a Sloe Gin which has also been given Spirits Business Double-Master Award and we thought we’d mention it, as you know, “tis the season to be merry” so it goes nicely with the theme.

Christopher Wren Sloe Gin

This is how it was described by the people at Christopher Wren themselves:

Aroma: Ripe, blueberry and sloe berries with floral and pine gin aromas.

Taste: Wonderfully fruity with sloe and blueberry flavours. Well-judged sugar with cleaning cracked black pepper, pine and other underlying classic London dry gin flavours.

Aftertaste: Sloe berry, pine and assertive cracked black pepper spice linger in the long finish.

You will be able to get this on the City of London distillery’s website for £30.00 (70 cl, 41.3% ABV)

You might also want to take a look at their summer tipples such as this Murcian Orange Gin, if you’re into your citrus gins as blood orange seems to be making waves in the gin-sphere at the minute.

City of London Murcian Orange Gin

You can get this delightfully vibrant gin bursting with notes of orange marmalade and warming spices followed by a lasting juniper finish – simply delicious.

Retails for £34.99 on Amazon.
