In honour of the Christmas spirit we see politicians giving each other gifts this year which is rather delightful.
Particulalry Nicola Sturgeon surprised the Prime Minister Theresa May with a bottle of Misty Isle Gin which is distilled on Skye.
Ms Sturgeon said: “I gave the Prime Minister a Christmas present.” “I thought it was appropriate to present the Prime Minister with a Christmas present from Ian Blackford’s beautiful constituency.”
We disagree on lots but in the spirit of the season, I took the PM a Christmas present today – a bottle of @IsleSkyeDistil gin from @IanBlackfordMP’s beautiful constituency. Maybe she should give @NSoames a taste! pic.twitter.com/uOcg55F8lm

The Misty Isle Gin from Isle of Skye Distillers (on the eponymous Inner Hebridean island) is made using 11 botanicals – juniper, orris root, liquorice root, black cubebs, coriander, grains of paradise, lemon peel, cassia bark and a secret botanical. This secretive botanical only comes from Skye. Rather mysterious indeed!
To smell the Misty Isle Gin has liquorice, cracked black pepper and subtly floral juniper, whereas cassia gives it a spicy tart to the palate while lemon and orris develop in the background balancing the flavours out.
The finish consists of waxy orange peel and fresh juniper warmth.
By the looks of things Mrs Theresa May will be enjoying a Merry Christmas indeed accompanied by this tipple.
If you’d like to act by MP Nicola Sturgeon’s example this Chrsitmas and buy this for a special someone or even to treat yourself, the Misty Isle Gin retails for £33.50 on Amazon and for £37.40 on Master of Malt.
