Wildcat Gin, has been recognised for its distinctive bottle with a design award from leading industry body, British Glass.
Launched by spirit experts Whyte & Mackay this July, Wildcat received the ‘Design of the Year’ award at the Glass Focus 2018 awards ceremony on the 22 November.
Requiring industry-first design and technical skills, Wildcat’s distinctive bottle design was a challenge to put into production.
O-I delivered a manufacturing first with a two-stage engraving process, requiring the involvement of some of their most experienced production personnel from the UK and overseas.
Rod Gillies, head of innovation at Whyte & Mackay, said: We’re delighted Wildcat has been recognised only months after launch. We wanted a distinctive and iconic design to set Wildcat Gin apart from the crowd.
Stranger & Stranger created a vision which O-I managed to deliver perfectly. The final result is a stunning bottle – as good as the delicious gin it contains.”
Bottled at 41.5% ABV, Wildcat Gin is distilled especially for mixing.
As we covered before, the bottle features Cat’s Claw root botanical to add a whisper of spiced citrus to a classic dry juniper taste. The gin is made with
10 carefully selected botanicals including liquorice root, coriander, angelica root, and juniper.
Wildcat Gin is available in good cocktail bars, and in off-licenses and online at an RSP of £28 per bottle. It will be available from early 2019 in UK supermarkets.
