Pink gin demand has soared in the last year with reports showing that more than 66 million bottles of gin were sold in the UK in 2018, up 41%, than the same period last year. This new pink gin addition to Lidl’s Hortus range could only generate increase to the statistic.
The Hortus Raspberry and Blackberry gin is a juniper-led Botanical Dry Gin with a twist of berry flavours giving it a subtle finish – perfect for cocktails.
Similar to the Hortus London Dry Gin, the Hortus Pink Gin tastes delicious when mixed with a premium tonic, but don’t let that deter you from enjoying it with some Prosecco and lemonade or as a punch with cranberry juice and lemonade – yum!
Surely the debate between gin purists and gin lovers that welcome innovation continues regarding “flavoured gin not being able to be considered proper gin” but we’ll let you decide whether you’d like to take that on board or not.
Paul Gibson, Buying Director at Lidl UK said: “We predict that this fresh and fruity take on one of our best-loved spirits will become a regular in the drinks cabinet.”
Although this was launched just in time for the festive season, it could easily be enjoyed anytime throughout the year. Why not consider this as a gift for Valentine’s Day? With the colour of this tipple it would be a crime not to.
You will find this tipple in-store at Lidl for £15.99 (70 cl, 40% ABV).
