Thanks to this lil’ garden veg, we’ve seen an ever greater increase in experimental gins. Locally-sourced botanicals such as honey, heather and seaweed have all become commonplace in the world of gin.

Warner Edwards Victoria Rhubarb Gin – 70cl, 40%, Waitrose, £33

If you prefer a well-balanced rhubarb gin over straight sweetness, then look no further than Warner Edwards Rhubarb Gin.

It’s deliciously light and refreshing; simply add to your favourite tonic water for the taste of the English countryside in your glass.

Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur – 50cl, 20%, Tesco, £17.49

Best served either with tonic water or lemonade, Edinburgh Gin’s best-selling liqueur still stands up as a timeless classic. It most definitely has a distinctive rhubarb taste.

The Scottish distillery have also done an amazing job with their hand-blown bottles from Italy complete with Art Deco style labelling.

Whitley Neill Rhubarb & Ginger Gin – 70cl, 43%, Amazon, £21

We recently told you about Whitley Neill Rhubarb and Ginger Gin for sale for £20 on Amazon. Well it’s gone up £1 since then but it’s still a bargain!

If you’re not a fan of ginger, don’t overlook this gem. The overwhelming taste is actually a strong and sweet rhubarb taste that works well with a quality tonic water or ginger ale.

For £21, not only does it have a more pronounced taste than similar gins in its category, you can also reuse the bottle to make a gorgeous purple bedroom light. Bargain!

Hortus Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur – 50cl, 20 %, Lidl, £11.99 – Best Budget Buy

 

If you have a sweet tooth, you must try Hortus Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur. Previously, we highlighted the Raspberry version of this as being our best budget buy over on our pink gin list.

Slingsby Rhubarb Gin – 70cl, 40%, Master of Malt, £38.99

Originally produced as a small limited edition batch, we feel fortunate that Slingsby Rhubarb Gin proved to be so popular that it became part of the permanent range.

As well as rhubarb notes, you can also detect a hint of pink grapefruit in your glass. Simply add your choice of a good tonic water and a rhubarb garnish to really make this beauty come alive.

Foxdenton Rhubarb Gin – 70cl, 21.5%, The Drink Shop, £24.12

Like other rhubarb gins, this was trialled first in a small batch and proved so popular that it became a regular fixture in the diverse Foxdenton gin range.

A balanced mix of sweet and tart, this gin will put you in mind of a fresh rhubarb and custard pudding. Try adding to ginger ale for a wonderfully sweet combo.

Rhubarb was commonly used to cure ailments in Tudor times and although medicine might be more advanced now, there’s no reason why we can’t utilise the benefits of rhubarb in a delicious drink!

The Shakespeare Distillery, based in Stratford-upon-Avon (of course) is an artisan producer, creating their gins in small batches – pure liquid poetry.

This does exactly what it says on the tin and for a great price. A refreshing taste and it won’t break the bank, a winner in our book. We suggest using this gin liqueur to create amazing instagrammable pink gin and prosecco cocktails.

Aber Falls Rhubarb & Ginger Gin – 70cl, 41.3%, Lidl, £21.99

We were very excited when Aber Falls launched their Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, and we’re still grinning at this exceptionally well-priced gin.

You will find Aber Falls Rhubarb & Ginger Gin cheaper in-store at Lidl, but if you just can’t wait and have to buy it right now, we’ve included a link below to buy online for slightly more.

The distillers, Aber Falls, situated in the Welsh village of Abergwyngregyn, recommend pairing this tasty gin with cranberry juice.

Jawbox Rhubarb and Gin Liqueur – 70cl, 20%, The Whisky Exchange, £23.75

The colour of this Jawbox Rhubarb and Gin Liqueur is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Distilled in Belfast, this gin liqueur both looks and tastes the part. We recommend using this in gin and prosecco cocktails – simply divine.
