JJ Whitley Has Launched a Blood Orange Gin

It’s one of summer’s hottest flavoured gins and now JJ Whitley have announced that they too have launched their very own blood orange gin.

Available from this June, this citrus expression follows similar releases from sister brand Whitley Neill and Beefeater.

Bottled at 38.6% ABV, expect a “bright and zesty” expression with the scent of Mediterranean orange and the taste of “candied citrus peel and zesty marmalade, with undertones of liquorice root and cassia bark.”

Meanwhile, the finish is “effortlessly balances piney juniper with lively, Sicilian citrus.”

If you’ve ever tried any of JJ Whitley’s previous five gins, such as the ever-popular Violet Gin or Elderflower Gin, you’ll know it’s typically bottled in a tall, glass bottle.

This latest release however adds a stunning dimension to its bottle design, featuring a bright orange shade and floral embossing designed to reflect the brand’s story and craft credentials, while enhancing its visual presence on the shelf.

Commenting on the new launch, Leanne Ware, white spirits director at Halewood, said: “We’ve seen orange-flavoured spirits perform exceptionally well for our other brands such as Whitley Neill, which carries Blood Orange gin and vodka variants.

As a result, we saw an opportunity to add another dimension to JJ Whitley’s portfolio just in time for the start of summer and warmer weather.”

“With a heritage and strong success in bringing new, intriguing flavours to market, the brand is well-positioned to capitalise on this trend.

“What’s more, the introduction of a fresh, distinctive bottle was important for the brand’s future growth in the segment, in which look and feel is an important consideration for consumers and hugely influential in their purchasing decision within this category.”
