It’s every gin lover’s summer dream – a strawberry gin sorbet. Now thanks to a collaboration between an ice cream maker and a distiller, the magical pairing has become a reality.
The sorbet is made using strawberries steeped in Bullards Strawberry and Black Pepper Gin, with some extra gin added in the process for good measure.
Giuseppe Parravani started his business as a small ice cream seller in 1898 Norwich. Adam Salter, business development manager for Parravani’s said, “We wanted to work with a firm that had the same ethos as us.”
It’s Bullards’ Strawberry and Black Pepper Gin that provides the alcoholic kick to the 3.7% ABV sorbet.
Crystal House in Norwich is where Bullards distils three different gins. Strawberry and Black Pepper, Old Tom, made from honey and mango and their London Dry which has flavours of marmalade and cinnamon.
The Strawberry Gin Sorbet was launched at an event at the Rooftop bar in Norwich and is now on sale directly from Parravani’s.
It will also be on sale at the Royal Norfolk Show, June 26-27.
After that, the makers hope to distribute the sorbet much further afield. Just in time to provide refreshment from the rising temperatures.
If you can’t make it to Norwich to buy a tub here’s how to make your own ice cream gin cocktail.
Bullards Strawberry and Black Pepper Gin Sorbet is currently available only from Parravani’s. 125ml tubs cost £2.95 or a case of 20 costs £59.
