With the heat arising, you may be looking for a top tipple to quench your thirst and good news is there’s plenty out there to satisfy every taste.

When summer kicks in, we’re more likely to reach out for tipples that complement the weather and satisfy our cravings for quirky and fruity summer gins.

Of course, orange and pink gin remain hot, hot, hot but these quirky on-trend gins are exactly what every experimental gin fan needs to upgrade the summer drinks cabinet this year…

Pineapple Gin

It could be described as the flavour of the summer, purely due to its association with tropical holiday destinations, but pineapple gin is definitely one of the flavours we’ll be reaching out for during the warmer months.

This take on the classic Jawbox gin features some fiery ginger spice and it has an intense pineapple finish that will elevate your G&T to brand new heights.

To get a bottle you’ll find it on Master of Malt for £23.15 (70 cl, 20% ABV).

Lime-Infused Gin

This could easily make our favourite summer tipples list taken by the success of the Lemon Grove Gin launched by the English Drinks Co.

The newly launched Lime Tree Gin is infused with zesty citrus lime delivering a naturally refreshing gin that everyone needs in their cupboard.

You can purchase a bottle on Ocado, Master of Malt and the English Drinks Company for £36 (70 cl).

Mermaid Gin

Nothing says summer quite like a gin called ‘Mermaid Gin’ and in this case it even has a recently launched pink version.

Mermaid Gin is a blend of lemon zest, grains of paradise and fragrant rock samphire – an edible plant foraged from the shores of the Isle of Wight.

The recommended serve for this gem is with ginger ale or tonic, garnished with strawberries, fresh mint and a slice of lime.

Mermaid Pink Gin is available from the Isle of Wight Distillery website for £39.50.

Peach Ice Tea Gin Liqueur

For those of you who can appreciate a quirky flavoured gin, this looks like something that will go down a treat on a warm summer’s day.

At a typical 20% ABV for a liqueur, it basically makes a vibrant iced tea flavour, crafted with locally sourced Tregothnan Tea and fresh peach juice for a refreshing tipple like no other.

You can pick this up on Drink Finder for £23.99 (50 cl, 20% ABV).

Tropical Gin

What a better way to get into proper summer vibes than by enjoying a tipple inspired by the Caribbean?

Creative gin distillers Poetic License have partnered up with Latin American restaurant and bar operator Las Iguanas to bring you the most tropical of summer gins.

Expect strong flavours on the palate from this gin, as it consists of hints of juniper, coriander & citrus blended with mango, grapefruit, coconut and lemon – yum.

Las Iguanas Poetic License Tropical Gin, is available on the Poetic License website or in Las Iguanas restaurants across the UK for £34.95 per bottle (70 cl, 40% ABV).

Watermelon Gin

A massive breakthrough this summer, watermelon gin is here and it’s easy to see why. Once a unique garnish added simply to the glass, it’s now a fully formed flavoured gin ready to quench your thirst with a burst of fruit.

Two Birds Watermelon Gin is available on Master of Malt for £30.95.
