This Boutique London Hotel with Its Own Distillery Offers the Perfect Gin Experience for a Relaxing Weekend

gin-credible gin experience

Ah London, the cosmopolitan English capital that has so much to offer – including when it comes to gin experiences.

Housing a working distillery for Portobello Road Gin, this four-floor venue boasts a gin-blending masterclass experience called The Ginstitute, two bars which have more than 100 gins on their menus, an off-licensed shop, a private dining room, and three quirky guest rooms.

The Ginstitute

The masterclass costs £110 for a three-hour experience but it is well worth it for the amount of gin you consume and take away.

Get ready to enjoy several gin cocktails and get to take two bottles of gin home, including your own creation with a personalised label and a bottle of their own award winning Portobello Road Gin.

The Ginstitute experience takes place downstairs in a cosy bar modelled on a traditional Victorian London gin palace lined with gin bottles from across the decades.

You will begin your gin journey with a Tom Collins cocktail (gin, lemon, sugar) and over the course of the following hours you will be handed two more cocktails, two G&Ts and tastings of several others.

The Ginstitute

After being educated in all things gin by the ‘Ginstructor’ you will be given the chance to blend your own. As well as getting to taste your own creation, you will get sips of everyone else’s.

After a long day’s gin drinking you can rest in one of the lovely rooms of the hotel as a guest.

Each room even has a record player and a Rough Trade-curated vinyl collection, as well as a selection of books.

If this doesn’t sound like the ideal vacation or stay-cation we don’t know what does!

Location: 186 Portobello Road, London, W11 1LA | Price: starts at £110 per night | Visit The Ginstitute for more information and bookings.
