No.3 London Dry Gin is a gin that will rise above your expectations giving you a rich tasting experience.

A Little Bit of Background

No.3 gin is a painstaking distillation of influences from the world’s foremost authorities on gin. A team of master distillers and top mixologists collaborated with Dr. David Clutton – the only person in the world with a PhD in gin – to create the perfect recipe.

Conceived at Berry Bros. & Rudd (London’s oldest Wine & Spirit Merchant), and performed under the watchful eye of their Master Distiller, their process encapsulates the tireless dedication of the team behind No.3 Gin.

Over two years, a dozen recipes were tested before its gin makers finally perfected the recipe which met with their exacting standards: a truly classic London Dry Gin. And one that has been named the world’s best four times.

Defined as unburdened by the inessentials, this carefully-sourced botanicals stay true to the roots of London Dry Gin.

Botanicals

  • Juniper
  • Citrus
  • Spice
  • Coriander
  • Angelica root
  • Cardamom
  • Grapefruit
  • Sweet orange peel

The Bottle

“We consider every bottle a masterpiece – a labour of love that draws on the generations of experience that give No.3 its unmistakably crisp and elegant character.”

The design of the bottle has three different surfaces derived from its triangular base. The glass is a beautiful blue with embossed shapes on it which give it a dynamic look and feel in the hand.

Additionally the cork stopper gives it a luxurious feel as well as transfers beautifully the scent of the spirit once removed from the bottle.

The label resembles an apothecary or chemist label which recites the botanical contents of this gin as well as other useful information about the brand and spirit.

Last but not least, the key which is embossed on every bottle takes centre stage, as its metallic element contrasts beautifully against the glass of the bottle.

The Gin

Nose

Once I removed the cork stopper I was greeted by the bright, crisp and fresh scent of citrus. Juniper follows with an uplifting welcome.

Straight

On the palate there’s juniper on the fore, supported by floral notes and spicy, warm cardamom. The citrus “zing” is plentiful, complemented by the punchy spiciness of coriander.

As the flavours gradually dissolve, the earthy dryness of angelica kicks in making for an outstanding finish.

With Tonic

The bold aromas of the rosemary and pink grapefruit are the perfect lead into a refreshing burst of citrus and gentle spice, giving this gin a true balance of flavour and finish.

I had mine with some elderflower tonic by Fever-Tree which brought out the flavours in this gin beautifully, enhancing the aroma and hints of citrus as well as the spiciness of the coriander.
