Fruity and Festive Marmalade Gin Is a Sweet Spread in a Bottle

Marmalade Old Tom Gin
Pocketful of Stones

Marmalade Old Tom Gin is a sweet and fruity concoction made by Penzance-based distillery Pocketful of Stones.

The festively zesty flavour of Seville orange peel is distilled together with a gorgeous combination of botanicals such as lemon peel, juniper, orris root, almond, liquorice, lemon grass, Sench tea, and bergamot.

Alongside the orange peel there’s a healthy dollop of Wilkin’s & Sons Traditional Marmalade infused into every bottle giving an authentic marmalade taste that we’re sure Paddington Bear would approve of if he was a gin drinker.

This all adds up to a fruity, slightly sweet, citrus-forward contemporary gin built on the backbone of British tradition.

‘Old Tom’ is a style of gin, dating back to the 18th century, where the gin would be lightly sweetened, to give a smoother finish.

Marmalade Old Tom Gin works fantastically well as a gin and tonic but the perfect serve has got to be the Gin Hot Toddy.

This fabulously festive hot gin cocktail is sweet, warming; a perfect accompaniment to the cold Christmas nights.

Put 1 tsp marmalade, 1 tsp sugar and 50ml Marmalade Old Tom into a large coffee mug, top with boiling water and stir. Then garnish with a clove studded orange slice, star anise and cinnamon.

Marmalade Old Tom Gin (70cl) 40 % ABV, is available from the Gin Kin Shop priced at £38.
