  2. Dandelion & Burdock Gin

    For: the nostalgic mums.

Dandelion & Burdock is the flavour pairing from childhood that was found in fizzy drinks cans – and what mum doesn’t like to indulge in a bit of nostalgia?

As well as the unique flavour pairing, the health properties of both plants are well documented, with dandelion popularly used in medicinal teas.

The puported benefits of the yellow and orange flower include reducing cholesterol, regulating blood sugar, reducing inflammation, lowering blood pressure and aiding weight loss among a host of other health links.

Dandelion & Burdock Gin (70cl) 40% ABV, is available to buy from the Gin Kin Shop priced at £38.

  3. Minus 33

    For: the calorie-counting mums.

Minus 33 is a drink that features a new approach to gin making, insomuch that it’s not actually technically gin at all. It’s classed as a “Juniper-Distilled Spirit.”

The recipe removes the use of refined sugars (alcohol has almost twice as many calories gram for gram as sugar) in favour of a naturally sweet, naturally low calorie drink, bursting with flavour.

The distillers found that 33% ABV was the sweet spot between a bold flavour and a low-calorie option. Perfect for the calorie-counting mum.

Minus 33 (70cl) 33% ABV, is available to buy from the Gin Kin Shop priced at £33.

  7. Apothecary Rose Gin

    For: the flower-loving mums.

The Old Curiosity Distillery grows over 600 flowers and herbs in their own Secret Herb Garden. The plants are then hand-picked to use in their gins, meaning the ingredients are natural and fresh.

The apothecary’s rose, known to botanists as Rosa gallica officinalis, is one of the most celebrated of all ancient roses.

Used in medicines and painted more than any other rose in eras gone by, today it’s being distilled in this gin due to its subtle fragrance and naturally floral flavour.

Although there are flowers in this gin we’re sure mum would also like a bunch she can put in a vase!

Apothecary Rose Gin (50cl) 39% ABV, is available to buy from the Gin Kin Shop priced at £35.95.

  8. Thunderflower Gin

    For: the craft gin-loving mums.

Thunderflower Gin is made in limited batches of 100 bottles in the London Dry style at their nano-distillery in Teignmouth, Devon.

They use a traditional one-shot distillation run where the 11 botanicals are extracted by vapour infusion only.

Only the best cut makes it, with nothing added to the final spirit except pure Dartmoor spring water. The gin is then allowed to rest to maximise the flavour before being filtered and bottled.

A pretty bottle and a premium product is what gin gifts for Mother’s Day should be all about.

Thunderflower Gin (70cl) 42% ABV, is available to buy from the Gin Kin Shop priced at £38.
