Plum Gin Liqueur is made from Gordon Castle’s very own variety of plums, with ancient roots grown in their historic walled garden in Scotland’s Speyside.
The gorgeous plums aren’t called Golden Drops for nothing, they are beautiful to look at and delicious to taste.
They were developed specifically by the Gordon Castle estate in 1864 by John Webster, head gardener at Gordon Castle Walled Garden.
The plums are picked fresh and then infused with Gordon Castle Botanical Gin to make Plum Gin Liqueur.
The liqueur is very versatile in terms of cocktails and makes a gorgeous fruity and herbal Plum & Thyme Smash.
Gordon Castle recommends a perfect serve of 40ml Gordon Castle Gin, 20ml Gordon Castle Plum Gin Liqueur, 10ml fresh lemon juice, 1 dash vanilla essence, 30ml Mediterranean tonic water, 1 egg white and fresh lavender.
To make, muddle lavender with lemon and liqueur, add the other ingredients (except tonic) and shake with ice. Double strain into glass, top with tonic and garnish with more lavender.
You can personalise your bottle with an engraving service that can enscribe a message or a name onto the bottle. The service costs £10 and is perfect for giving a bottle as a gift.
Gordon Castle Plum Gin Liqueur (50cl) 27% ABV, is available to buy from the Gin Kin Shop priced at £26.75.
