Aldi has launched a new own-label gin brand named Haysmith’s and the first releases look very sweet indeed.
The supermarket already sells a gin-credible 10 million bottles of gin per year and lucky for us they aren’t content with resting on that success.
The first range consists of three full-strength gins and they look very fruity and very exotic.
First up is Mango & Passionfruit Gin. It has a bright, tropical nose with hints of floral and citrus aromas. The flavour has a rich mango profile balanced with fresh passionfruit notes, whilst still being juniper-forward.
Seville Orange & Persian Lime Gin sounds like a wonderfully sunny citrus mix. Expect strong juniper notes on the nose alongside a subtle aroma of lime & orange. An initial citrus burst of fresh lime on the palette is followed by juniper, cinnamon and sweet orange.
Finally, Peach & Orange Blossom Gin completes the launch trio. It has a sweet, juicy peach nose and a balanced flavour profile of fresh, fruity peach and soft, floral orange blossom.
The launch comes hot on the heels of the release of new Aldi gin liqueurs, with summer flavours such as Strawberry Lemonade and Summer Trifle.
We can’t wait for summer sipping – there has never been so many fruit-forward and sweet gin options on the market.
Aldi Haysmith’s gins are all priced at £15.99 (70cl) 37.5%, available in-store or online.
